COMPARISON OF THE BIBLE AND QURAN -
ARCHEOLOGICAL
Archeological Bible
Archeology confirms the Bible – By: goodvideotoshare
In Luke 19:40 Jesus said “if the people keep silent, the stones would
immediately cry out” and
that literally is what is
happening around the world, stones are crying out with archeological
proof of the Bible.
For the past 150 years
hundreds of brilliant scholars conducted detailed archeological
examinations at thousands
of sites in the middle-east and have proven that what the Bible
states is true and
accurate in every area where its statement could be tested.
The Bible says that the
world became so evil that God was going to destroy everything except
Noah and his family
through a massive worldwide flood. God
instructed Noah to build an ark
and save the species of
animals. Skeptics claim the ark was a
myth but people claimed they
have seen the ark. It came to test on the Mountain Ararat now
called Turkey. The mountain is
covered with snow about
nine month a year preserving the ark.
Marco Polo 750 years ago
wrote about the ark. Some people claimed they have walked through
the ark. Inhabitants of
Armenia have taken their
children to see the ark and have passed this info to their children.
Archeologists
have discovered the site of Sodom and Gomorra found in Genesis. God said in
Chapter
19 that the cities were so evil he was going to destroy them. They have made some
discoveries
at the cemetery that was once Sodom.
They found that the place where they
buried
the dead a fire was started at the roof, why
was that so strange, conquering nations
wouldn’t
bother starting a fire for burial victims because the people inside were
already dead.
The
fire did not come from below showing that the fire came from the sky. (Genesis
19:24)
[Ezekiel
16:49]
What
about Moses? Did he lead more than a million Israelites out of Egypt into the
desert
toward
the land God had promised Abraham’s ancestors?
God used the Egyptians to provide
physical
evidence that what the Bible said is true.
Archeologist have now found the records
that
the Egyptian name the same names as those in Numbers 33 and the sites that
Israel
travelled
through in the exodus out of Egypt and toward the promise land. It showed that they
were
not made up places, they really existed thousands of years ago proven by the
archeologist
today
that the accounts were recorded truthfully.
Of the
hundreds of thousands of artifacts found by archeologist not one has ever been
discovered
that contradicts or denies one word, phrase, clause or sentence of the Bible but
always
confirms and verifies the facts of the Biblical records.
Forty
years after the Israelites left Egypt in ruins, God led them out of the desert
in the land
that He
promised their forefather hundreds of years before. The Bible said the Israelites
crossed
over the Jordan River into Canaan. God
commanded them to attack and destroy the
first
enemy city, the city of Jericho. This is
found in the 6th chapter of Joshua and in the book of
Judges. Some archeologist said that this attack never
happened. They were saying it was a
Hebrew
myth but then archeologist John Garstain did the unthinkable and unforgiveable,
he
dug up
Jericho. (Joshua 6:2) Jericho had
thousands of inhabitants. It’s walls
were 45 feet high
and in
some places in excess of 20 feet thick.
It was unassailable except by siege.
You couldn’t
get
in. There was an earthen embankment
around the city and at the base of the embankment
there
was a retaining wall about 15 feet high and on top of that mud brick wall about
20 feet
high
and on the crest of that embankment another mud brick wall about 20 feet
high. It was
very
strongly defended exactly as the Bible said, (Joshua 6:4-5). The stones cry out in Jericho
the
evidence that the Bible accurately described its destruction. More proof that what the
Bible
says is true.
A
feature that separates the Bible from all other ancient literature is its
historical precision.
Within
the pages of the Bible we find many references to events, people and
places. The
science
of archeology along with the testimony of secular historical records confirm
the
precision
of the reference of the various Biblical books.
This minute attention to detail
observed
by the biblical writers is unparallel in any other ancient literature. (Don Stewart,
author
and teacher)

The
Bible says, Sarah, Abraham, Isaac, Rebecca, Leah and Jacob were buried in
Hebron in a cave
purchased
by Abraham (Genesis 23). Tradition said
this cave have been located below the
sacred
precinct of the friend of the merciful God in Hebron, today a Muslim
mosque.
References
as early as the second century BC testifies that this is the authentic location
of the
burial
place of the patriarchs. The cave was
explored by the Augustine canons by 1119 at which
time
at which time they found the bones of the patriarchs.
Many
of the people mention in the Bible are confirmed in sources outside the Bible
in the case
of
royalty many times a likeness of the individual has been recovered. Over fifty persons
named
in the Old Testament are known outside the Bible and we have likeness of twelve
of
them. Some 27 people named in the New Testament are
known from other records with six
likenesses
surviving. Four of them are Roman
emperors.
Quite
a number of Biblical structures have been excavated. They are: 1) The Tower of Babel in
Babylon where language was confused, (Genesis
11:1-19), 2) The Pool of Gibeon - where the
forces
of David and Isbashet fought during the struggle of the Kingship of Israel, (II
Samuel 2:12-
32), 3) The Theater of Ephesus - were the
riots of the silversmiths occurred, (Acts 19:29), 4)
Two Stone Pillar Base of Samson - Samson pushed with all his might and
down came the
temple
of the rulers of the Philistines and all the people in it, (Judges 16:29-30), 5) The Name of
King David - The name of Israel’s second King, David
appears in two 9th century BC text, the
taldan
inscription and the Moabite stone. The Moabite
Stone was an extraordinary find in it’s
complete
work, 6) Joseph and IMHOTEP, Joseph
was Imhotep of Egypt. National Geographic
in
January
1995 describes a man known as Imhotep who saved his country from a famine.
Imhotep
was the architect responsible for building Pharaoh’s tomb completely from
stone. He
was
known as a sculptor, priest, and healer and considers being the pre-imp genius
of the old
kingdom. There are many similarities between Joseph
and Imhotep. They both were second in
command
under Pharaoh. They both lived to be 118
years. They were both architects. They
both
stored up for seven years of plenty.
They both saw seven years of famine.
They both
interpreted
dreams. They both built pyramids and
palaces. They were both physicians. They
both
instituted an income tax of one-fifth.
They both had a knowledge of astrology.
They both
were
educated men. They were legendary
historians. And both were one of twelve
brothers
and
sisters.
In
2007 Nehemiah’s wall was found. This
discovery causes a firestorm of activity among Bible
skeptics
who pointed out the lack of archeological evidence supporting the book of
Nehemiah’s
claim
of the returning exile Jews who rebuild Jerusalem’s city walls and restored the
gates of
the
temple.
In
present day Jordan, scientists have found a 10th century B.C. Calba
Production center that
coincides
with the rule of the biblical king of Israel, King Solomon and his mines –
Solomon’s
Copper
Mines.
The Dead Sea Scrolls – One of the greatest finds of the
reliability of the Holy Scriptures.
According
to the Bible the Old Testament was written between 1500 and 400 years before
Jesus
was born therefore it is a great cause of faith when over 300 prophecies
written between
1500
and 400 years before Jesus was born were fulfilled by him. The Dead Sea Scrolls contain
all of
the books except Esther. They were
between about 100 or 200 years before Jesus was
born. The Dead Sea Scrolls prove the Bible is
authentic.

Archeological Qur’an
History never takes place
in a vacuum. It always leaves behind its
forgotten fingerprints,
waiting dormant in the
ground to be discovered, dug up and deciphered.
There isn’t much data to
corroborate the Quran. We will look
therefore at the claims the Quran
makes and see if they can
be proven by archeology.
The Qibla,
direction of prayer is the first thing we will investigate. The Quran said the Qibla was
finalized towards Mecca
for all Muslims around 624 A.D. (Sura 2:144, 149-150). But there is
evidence that the location
where Muslims prayed is further north than Mecca. It is said it is in
north-west Arabia (Crone Cook 1977:23).
There was a mosque built
at the beginning of the 8th century by the governor Hajjaj in
Wasit. It
is the oldest mosque in
Islam. There was another mosque built
near Baghdad. The direction of
theses mosque do not face
Mecca but are facing northward toward Jerusalem. The Wasit
mosque is off by 33
degrees and the Baghdad mosque is off by 30 degrees.
The Dome of the Rock is not a mosque. It has
no Qibla (direction of prayer). It is
built as an
octagon with eight pillars
(Nevo 1994:113). It was used to walk around thus it seems
to have
been built as a sanctuary (Glasse 1991:102). It is said to be the third most holy site
in Islam
after Mecca and
Medina. Muslims say it was built to
remember the night when Muhammad
went up to heaven to speak
with Moses and Allah concerning the number of prayers required
of the believers (known as the Mi’raj in Arabic) (Glasse 1991:102). Research by Van Berchem
and Nevo found the writing
on the walls aimed at the Christians.
The writings attest the
messianic status of Jesus, the acceptance of the prophets, Muhammad’s receipt of
revelation,
and the use of the terms “islam” and “muslim” (Van Berchem
1927:nos 215, 217; Nevo
1994:113).
The reliability of Muhammad’s prophethood can be seen in Nevo’s Rock
inscriptions. Nevo
found in the Arab
religious texts dating from the first century and half of Arab rule (seventh to
eighth century A.D.) a monotheistic creed. This
creed was not Islam but Islam developed from
it. He didn’t even find any reference to
Muhammad, neither his being a prophet of God.
Muhammad’s name was absent
on all of the early inscriptions, especially the religious ones.
This is an important fact
because in the Sira and Hadith the Muslims were supposed to follow
Muhammad but they don’t’
find these same emphasis in the much earlier Arabic inscriptions.
You will find Muhammad’s
name mentioned on the Arab inscriptions after 690 A.D. (Nevo
1994:109-110).
Another thing of importance is what Nevo called the “Triple Confession of Faith”
which deals
with the Tawhid (that God is one), the phrase, Muhammad
rasul Allah (that Muhammad is his
prophet), and
the human nature of Jesus (rasul
Allah wa-abduhu) found in Abd
al-Malik’s
inscription in the Dome of
the Rock in Jerusalem, dated 696 A.D. (Nevo
1994:110)! Before this
inscription the Muslim
confession of faith cannot be attested at all.
The Quran was
transformed 100 years after Muhammad’s death.
If you look at the quotations
from both the Quran on
both the coins and the Dome of the Rock it is not the same in detail as
it is today. (Cook 1983:74) with this difference,
how could the Quran be canonized prior to this
time (late seventh century)? Some
people think the Quran was put together in a hurry. They
believe that there was no
Quranic materials in existence in the mid-late seventh century.
Quranic information came
about from outside Islamic literary traditions in the mid-eighth
century between an Arab
and a monk of Bet Hale (Nau 1915:6f) but
we are not sure if any
changes has been made to
represent the Quran of today.
Crone and Cooks’ research
state that under the governor Hajjaj of Iraq in 705 A.D. we have a
logical historical context
in which the Quran could have been complied as Muhammad’s
scripture (Crone-Cook 1977:18).
Archeology of the Qur’an – By:
QuranRevealed – [YouTube]
Robert C. Greer, Ph.D. author Qur’an Revealed
The archeology of the
Quran in the same period. The city of
Mecca was founded in the 4th
century A.D. This is important. According to the Qur’an, Abraham, Hagar, and
Ishmael
migrated down from the
Palestine area to Mecca which was approximately a 1000 mile trip. It
was there that the Kabba
Altar was built, therefore the Kabba Altar has an Abrahamic
foundation/association and
then the city of Mecca was founded shortly after this. All this
according to the Qur’an
would have happened around 2,000 B.C. that’s when Abraham was
alive. Mecca did not exist until the 4th
century A.D. What does this do to the
story of Abraham?
Archeology has proving
that the city of Jerusalem was founded/existed in 4 A.D. and being that
it existed, all the Old
Testament and New Testament stories are true.
But is the archeological
proof the same with the
Qur’an because Mecca was founded in the 4th century A.D. the
Abraham stories related to
the Qur’an never really happened they should be regarded as fables.
